Most importantly — have fun and enjoy the process. Most towns around New Zealand have a local pottery studio, art centre or community kiln that can finish the job. Just ask if they can do a \u003cstrong\u003eglaze fire to cone 5 or 6 (around 1200°C)\u003c\/strong\u003e — that's the final firing your piece needs to come out glossy and food-safe + the Clear glaze is included  in the box.
