Hen do, team day, birthday crew, or a bunch of mates wanting a chill afternoon? Bring them in. Group sessions at The Pottery Lounge are the same easygoing format as our regular sessions — choose a piece, paint it, we glaze and fire it — just with your favourite people around the table.

  • Same as our regular session — 90 minutes, any piece from the pottery library, unlimited underglazes, all the brushes, sponges and stencils you need, plus complimentary tea, sparkling waters, sodas and pre-packaged snacks. We glaze and fire your pieces, and they're ready for pickup 2-3 days later.

  • Day to day we run sessions for up to 12 guests. For group bookings we can stretch to 16 by request — just flag it when you enquire so we can plan the space and staffing. Bigger than 16? No worries — we're happy to run back-to-back sessions so everyone gets a turn. We'll work the timing out with you.

  • $80 per person, same as our standard session.

  • Absolutely — hen groups are one of our favourites. Relaxed, creative, low-key in the best way. Let us know it's a hen do when you enquire and we'll help you make it special

  • Yes. Pottery is a brilliant team-building option — hands-on, no pressure, and conversation flows naturally. We can invoice your company and the 90-minute format slots neatly into a half-day. Email us to chat.

  • We handle this case by case — drop us a line about your group and the occasion, and we'll let you know what works.

  • Group bookings of 12+ effectively take over the lounge anyway. If you'd like the space officially reserved as a private event, let us know when you enquire and we can lock it in.

  • Email us at hello@thepotterylounge.co.nz with your date, group size, occasion, and preferred time, we run sessions at 10am, 12pm, 2pm &4pm

  • We recommend at least 2 weeks ahead for groups of 8+, especially over peak seasons and on weekends. We'll always try to fit in last-minute requests, but can't promise anything during peak times.

  • For group bookings we ask for a 50% deposit to secure your slot, with the balance due on the day. We'll send you payment details once we've confirmed your booking.

  • Group cancellation terms are a little different from our standard policy:
    • 14+ days before: full deposit refunded, or moved to a new date at no charge
    • 7–14 days before: 50% of deposit refunded
    • Less than 7 days: deposit non-refundable If something serious comes up, talk to us — we're reasonable

  • A bit of flex is fine. Let us know your final numbers at least 48 hours before your session and we'll adjust. After that we'll need to charge for the originally booked number.

  • Large group pieces are ready 2-3 days after you have painted. (this may be shorter if the kilns have space)
    If your group is leaving Queenstown the same day, ask us about shipping when you enquire — we can post finished pieces nationwide and overseas.
