Colour & firing notes

Not food safe. Amaco recommends three coats for the mirror effect and notes a preference for low-porosity bodies. The glaze is fluid; avoid overfiring.

How to apply

• Mix well before use and follow the jar instructions for the brushable formulation. Let the coating dry between coats.
• Use clay rated for cone 5–6. Test any layered combination separately, leaving enough space above the foot for the observed movement.

Food-contact suitability

For decorative or sculptural work only. Do not use on food-contact surfaces or drinking rims.

Before glazing a full piece

Fire a test tile on your chosen clay before glazing a full piece. Record the coats, firing cone and cooling programme. Photographs show example fired results; clay colour, kiln atmosphere and application can change the appearance.
